Dr. Norran Hussein is a distinguished radiologist with extensive expertise in women’s imaging and breast health. She has built her career on clinical excellence and patient care. In addition, she has contributed to research and taken on leadership roles that advanced women’s healthcare in Egypt and internationally.
In 2011, she received the Derek Harwood Nash Fellowship from the Radiological Society of North America. This allowed her to train at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University. Her research was later presented at major platforms, including the Radiological Society of North America, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the European Society of Radiology. These contributions addressed breast cancer challenges on both local and global levels.
She is an expert in mammography, breast MRI, breast ultrasound, and interventional breast procedures. Moreover, she is deeply committed to improving early detection and enhancing treatment outcomes for women.
In 2018, Dr. Hussein co-authored the Springer publication “Lobar Approach to Breast Ultrasound”, writing the chapter on “Benign and Malignant Breast Ultrasound.” Furthermore, in 2020, she was appointed Radiology Executive Director of the Presidential Campaign on Women’s Health in Egypt.
As the CEO of Seha Scan, she continues to transform women’s perception of healthcare in Egypt. She has created a safe, compassionate, and advanced environment where women can heal and grow.
Previously, she served as the Director of Women’s Imaging at Cairo Radiology Center (CairoScan). There, she also supported initiatives with the Ministry of Health. Her leadership and expertise helped establish high standards of breast imaging services.
Her passion for women’s health inspired her to co-found the Egyptian Society of Women’s Health in 2005. Two years later, she joined the National Breast Screening Program, part of the Women’s Health Outreach Program run by the Ministry of Health.
In addition to her medical and research work, Dr. Hussein strengthened her leadership skills. She completed a Management Diploma at the American University in Cairo (AUC). This qualification supports her executive roles in both academic and clinical settings.
