A mammogram is an X-ray image of your breasts. You should have it done if you experience symptoms such as a breast lump, pain, or nipple discharge, or as an early detection screening test starting at age 40.
Mammograms are the gold standard in breast cancer screening. They can detect breast cancer before it causes signs or symptoms, and have been proven to reduce the risk of dying from breast cancer.
There are three types of mammograms:
2D Mammogram: the standard type used for routine imaging.
