From Cairo to Dubai: A Journey of Dedication

Dr. Norran Hussein began her medical career in 1999 as a radiology resident at Cairo University. In a department with nine male colleagues, she was the only female resident. Through perseverance and dedication, she became head resident. This role laid the foundation for her future leadership.

Her passion for women’s health led her to specialize in breast imaging. She recognized the critical importance of early detection in breast cancer outcomes. Over the years, she reported on more than 85,000 mammograms, earning trust as a leading name in diagnostic imaging.

Leading Breast Radiology in Egypt

Dr. Hussein’s expertise and commitment earned her the position of Chief Breast Radiologist for Egypt’s Ministry of Health. In this role, she played a key part in national breast cancer screening programs. She strongly advocated for early detection and better patient care.

Her leadership also extended to private practice. As a consultant, she became highly sought after, known for her patient-centered approach and strong diagnostic skills.

Embracing New Challenges in Dubai

Seeking broader impact, Dr. Hussein moved to Dubai. She is now the Division Chief of Breast Radiology at Al Zahra Hospital. This new chapter reflects her desire to reach more women across the Arab world.

“I always like to pursue new challenges and want to reach more women all over the Arab world,” she shares.

“My biggest achievement is being able to help more than 85000 women by screening, early detection and management” she reflects.

Empathy shapes her approach to patient care. She values being present for her patients, especially after a breast cancer diagnosis. While her role is mainly diagnostic, she often builds long-term relationships, offering guidance and support.

“Connecting with women when they are confused and in need of guidance is something I cannot resist,” she says.
