Dr Norran Hussein is a breast imaging and interventional radiologist since 2005.
Since completing her studies at Cairo University and the Royal College of Radiologists, UK, Dr Norran H. Said has become one of the foremost voices on women’s medicine and has been a visionary in breast cancer prevention in the Middle East.
In that vein, she managed to create a successful social media platform targeting women’s health and wellness.
In 2011, she completed the Derek Harwood-Nash Fellowship by the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) for Breast Imaging training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard University.
As a passionate specialist in breast imaging and intervention, her research continues to address challenges on both local and international levels, presenting studies on mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast intervention at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the European Congress of Radiology (ECR).
She is also an abstract reviewer for RSNA and the American Society of Breast Imaging (SBI).
She is the former Vice Chair of the SBI Social Media Committee and a current member of the SBI International Committee.
With a desire for teaching, she is an invited instructor at the RSNA Breast Biopsy Workshop and the BD Breast Intervention Masterclass.
With that passion, she co-founded the Egyptian Society of Women’s Health (ESWH) in 2004, where she is now President Elect, organizing more than 25 breast imaging conferences and courses.
Through the society, she pursued her passion for breast cancer early detection by presenting at more than 30 women’s health seminars and organizing public-awareness events.
In addition, Dr Norran has also developed her management skills by acquiring an Executive Management Diploma at the American University in Cairo (AUC).
In 2013, she co-founded Seha Scan, a private radiology center, where she served as CEO, while also acting as Chief Breast Radiologist and Deputy Executive Director in Egypt’s National Breast Cancer Screening Program.
In 2025, she moved to the UAE, where she is now Division Chief of Breast Radiology at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai.
Recently, she was appointed Board Member of Emirates Breast Imaging, under the Radiology Society of the Emirates (RSE).
In her continual position as steering committee member of the Egyptian Presidential Initiative on Women’s Health, and her new role in the UAE, she remains at the forefront of changing how women view medicine in the Middle East, by using her vast knowledge of women’s health issues and the delicate process it involves toward creating a safe haven for women to heal and grow.
